What This Service Is

freesoftware.support is a pay-what-you-can tech support service operated by David Hamner out of Sutherlin, Oregon. We offer remote and on-site computer support, as well as free website creation on freesoft.page subdomains. This is a one-person community service operation, not a company with employees or guarantees.

Best-Effort Service

All support is provided on a best-effort basis. We will do our best to resolve your issue, but we cannot guarantee that every problem will be fixed. Some issues are beyond what can be solved remotely or in a single session.

No Liability

freesoftware.support is not responsible for any damages, data loss, system changes, or other issues that may occur during or as a result of a support session. While the risk of anything going wrong is very small, by using this service you accept that:

• There are no guarantees of system integrity
• There are no guarantees that your issue will be resolved
• freesoftware.support is not liable for any damages to your system, data, or infrastructure
• You are responsible for backing up your own data before a support session

Recording and Publishing

All calls, emails, and support sessions are recorded by default. These recordings may be edited and published on YouTube and other platforms as educational or promotional content. By contacting freesoftware.support, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Your call, email, or support session may be recorded
• Recordings may be published on YouTube and other platforms
• Your name, voice, screen content, and any personal information shared during the session may be visible or audible in published content
• Published content may be monetized through ads and other revenue streams

You can opt out of having your session published on YouTube. Just let us know at the start of your call and we will not use it as content. However, all phone calls are still recorded regardless, for quality assurance and internal tooling purposes. Recording is a fundamental part of how the service operates.

AI Usage

This service uses artificial intelligence tools including:

• AI-powered email responses (your emails may be read and responded to by an AI system)
• AI-assisted troubleshooting during support sessions
• Local AI models for speech-to-text and text-to-speech in our phone system
• Cloud-based AI services (Anthropic/Claude) for complex problem solving

By using this service, you consent to your communications being processed by these AI systems.

Free Website Service

Websites created through freesoftware.support are hosted on freesoft.page subdomains at no cost. The following terms apply:

• Websites are provided as-is on a best-effort basis
• We may use AI to build and modify your website
• We reserve the right to remove a website at any time for any reason
• The process of building your website may be featured as content on YouTube or other platforms
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide for your website
• We do not guarantee uptime or availability of hosted websites

Payment

This service is pay what you can. There is no required payment for any support or website service. Donations via Patreon or PayPal are appreciated but never required. No one will be turned away or given lesser service for not paying.

Privacy

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use tracking cookies or analytics on this website. However, your communications (calls, emails, support sessions) are recorded and may be published publicly as described above. Information you provide through forms is sent via Formspree and email.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated at any time. The date at the top of the page indicates when they were last changed. Continued use of the service after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
